The building embodies the drama of construction interrupted by time — from its pre-war conception to its post-war completion — and marks the contribution of one of the first Serbian women architects, Jovanka Bončić-Katerinić.
The faculty was founded in 1936. Construction of the building began before the Second World War, was interrupted, and was completed in 1948 with the participation of Pyotr Anagnosti. This is an architecture of ruptured time: the trace of war, the trace of a pause, the trace of reconstruction. The complex was designed by Jovanka Bončić-Katerinić, one of the first Serbian women architects.
